An optimal duct design requires a minimum number of automatic controls for stable operation and provides initial and operating cost savings, space savings, and lower noise levels. Good duct design with carefully selected terminal boxes (not too large, equipped with appropriate damper actuators) and simple, reliable, basic controls gives good performance throughout a building at all times of year.
