Numerous texts and guides deal with design and engineering of laboratory facilities. However, little information is centrally available on energy-efficient research laboratory design. This design guide has been compiled as a comprehensive information source emphasizing the ranges and advantages of energy-efficiency measures (EEM's) that can be included in a new facility design, or into an existing facility, and the savings that can result.
